Key Features
- Mask SSN
- Copy Text Attribution
1. Mask SSN: Muspell now masks Social Security Numbers (SSNs) by default across the application to strengthen patient data privacy and minimize the risk of accidental PHI exposure. SSNs can be unmasked only by authorized users when clinically or operationally necessary, and every unmasking action is captured in the audit logs. This ensures organizations maintain full visibility into access to sensitive identifiers.
2. Copy Text Attribution: Muspell now automatically appends source attribution and key patient identifiers when patient information is copied from the application, ensuring transparency and traceability of PHI outside the system. The copied content can include patient identifiers such as name, MRN, date of birth, and source system, with the attribution format configurable based on organizational preferences. This feature helps reduce ambiguity when patient data is shared, and strengthens data provenance across clinical, HIM, and operational workflows.
