What is Outpatient Prospective Payment System?

The term OPPS refers to Outpatient Prospective Payment System. It is a system that was implemented by CMS or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2000 for making multiple payments for medical services and for building upon the outpatient reimbursement rate services under Medicare.
