What is Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS)?
In order to ensure that Medicaid funds are used efficiently and effectively, the Medicaid program uses a Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS). The MMIS is a computerized system that tracks information about Medicaid enrollees, providers, claims, and payments. The MMIS helps Medicaid officials to monitor the program and make sure that it is operating effectively.
