What is ICD-10-CM (Clinical Modification)?

ICD-10-CM refers to a system used by healthcare providers to classify and code diagnoses. The ICD-10-CM system is based on the World Health Organization’s ICD-10. The ICD-10-CM system was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).
