What is Health Information Exchange (HIE)?
Health Information Exchange is the delivery of healthcare information electronically through organisations inside a region, community, or hospital systems. The concept is to share a patient’s vital medical information securely to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers and patients while improving the speed, quality, safety, and cost of patient care.
