What is External Quality Review Organization (EQRO)?

An External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) is a quality check organization that reports on the quality and timeliness of healthcare services, which a Managed Care Organization (MCO) furnishes to its Medicaid beneficiaries. States must contract with an EQRO to perform an annual review of the quality of services.
