What is Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)?
This computer application enables the physician’s orders for diagnostic and treatment services (such as medications, laboratory, and other tests) to be added electronically inplace of using order sheets or prescription pads. The computers helps with keeping the physician informed through comparison with dose standards, allergy checks and other medication interactions.
